The Oakland Raiders were the losers when the NFL decided to relocate the Rams and potentially the Chargers in LA but don’t think they were just going to stay in Oakland and mourn on their bad luck.
The Raiders have secured land for a stadium in San Antonio, they would play in the Alamodome while the new stadium is constructed. The potential new stadium would be between Austin and San Antonio. It’s pretty clear that the Raiders don’t have a big interest in staying in Oakland and now that they have a concrete plan for a stadium, a move seems inevitable.
Owner Mark Davis would benefit from the fact that the region doesn’t have a NFL team and San Antonio fans have shown with the Spurs that they support their team to the fullest. Davis also would bring some competition in Texas to the Cowboys of Jerry Jones, the man who allegedly pushed for the Raiders to not be in LA. I’m sure Jerry Jones would be fine at the end but still a great move for the Raiders unless you live in Oakland.
