Hmmm… This seems a little bit unfair. Donnie Romero, pastor of Steadfast Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas, isn’t a big supporter of Conor McGregor. Pastor Romero disliked some of McGregor’s comments so much that he spent some time talking about him from his pulpit. During a press conference, UFC featherweight champion McGregor said he was “cool” with Jesus and that “God recognized gods.”
Pastor Romero was left a little tight after hearing McGregor’s questionable comments and according to yahoo.com, it led to him wishing McGregor would be struck by lighting.
“The guy’s a UFC fighter, that guy’s nothing! He’s let money go to his head! He’s got pride! And look, let me tell you this, the bigger they are, the harder they fall, my friend.”
“I’m going to pray that God strikes him down with a lightning bolt, so everybody in the world that believes the Bible, even a little bit, will know that it was God as Jesus who stroke him down.”
Pastor Romero even called out McGregor’s fans.
“If you are a fan of his and call yourself a Christian, shame on you!”
What happened to Pastors praying for people? Being struck by lighting could do extreme damage or even cause death. That just doesn’t seem like the right thing for a pastor to say but then again, who am I to judge.
