It’s pretty safe to say that the New York Knicks will not be looking for a new head coach anytime soon.
Just when you were getting ready to compile your list of possible head coaches for the Knicks, you’re kind of forced to put the list away for the time being. But just for fun, here are some names I compiled based on what I kept reading.
- Mark Jackson
- Tom Thibodeau (He plans on crawling to MSG)
- Luke Walton
- David Blatt (Yes, he’s a possibility)
- Brian Shaw
- Jeff Van Gundy (In your wildest dreams perhaps)
- Kevin McHale

But alas, that is on hold as Phil Jackson named Kurt Rambis as interim coach for the remainder of the season. Let us recall that Rambis was fired from Minnesota in 2011 after the team’s record was a jaw-dropping 32-132. Rambis is looking to turn it around and also said a bold statement.
Rambis: "To get this team in the playoffs. That is my goal." #Knicks

The goal was to get the eighth seed but is that out of the Knicks’ reach? As the All-Star break is coming up, the second half of the season will be the most interesting to see. But Rambis does have one point correct, the Knicks are great team who can’t seem to find their groove.
Rambis: "We are a much better team than we have been showing lately." #Knicks

Will the Knicks have the first pick of the 2016 NBA Draft or will they somehow sneak into the playoffs?
Stay tuned.
