The past couple of seasons for the Philadelphia 76ers have been nothing short of frustrating for both the fans, and the players. Joel Embiid who was the Sixers’ No. 3 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft has yet to play a single game for team due to injuries. General Manager Sam Hinkie spoke to the media Friday about Joel Embiid’s progression.
“Right now he is at a specialized sports facility in Qatar doing rehab.” said Hinkie via Kurt Helin of NBC Sports. “I’ve always been excited about him because he has rare gifts and a real chance to have a fantastic NBA career. I expect him to be ready for the start of next season.”
Many scouts looked at Embiid as the next big man with superstar potential. With a record of 8-45 so far on the season it’s safe to say the Sixers’ would be happy with any help they can get.
