The Cowboys are in the position to steal a great player with the fourth overall pick in the NFL Draft, but Stephen Jones says they have other plans. From the great Clarence Hill Jr. of The Star-Telegram:
“I mean you have to look at it. You’re not naive to it but if you have the opportunity in this league, in our situation, to get a potential franchise quarterback, then you have to make the investment. You have to have the patience. You sacrifice maybe that opportunity that maybe is impactful right now.”- Stephen Jones
You never know what is true and not leading up to the draft, it’s all part of the strategy. They have a golden opportunity to add, like Jones said, an impact player. I’ve seen everything from Florida State corner Jalen Ramsey, Ohio State defensive end Joey Bosa, Florida corner Vernon Hargreaves, and of course, Cal quarterback Jared Goff and North Dakota St. quarterback Carson Wentz.
Romo’s injury makes our short memory think of the Cowboys as a bad team, but with Romo back in the saddle they are in the position to make one last run at a championship.
