The trade deadline in the NBA is fast approaching and Dwight Howard’s name is being thrown around the league by a few teams.
One team that few expected to throw their hat into the Dwight discussions is the Boston Celtics but they’ve taken aim at the once dominant post player.
“Meanwhile, the Celtics have engaged the Houston Rockets in talks about a possible deal for Dwight Howard, the Daily News has learned,” Isola wrote.
“Howard can opt out of his contract this summer, and considering his back and knee issues, it doesn’t make much sense for Boston GM Danny Ainge to use the assets on a player with declining skills and a battered body.”
Dwight is oft-injured and hasn’t played like a superstar since he left Orlando but the Celtics could be a good fit for him if they don’t have to give up much in the process.
