Zhang, a woman who endured a 10-hour delay when she was flying into Guangzhou (a city in Southern China), ended up having her own personal flight. It turns out most of the passengers were departing from Guangzhou because of the Chinese New Year, so her flight wasn’t packed to begin with, but after a blizzard caused the flight to be delayed 10 hours, most passengers either switched flights or canceled, leaving her as the single passenger on the flight.
Zhang seemed to really enjoy her trip- access to all the in-flight meals she wanted and no matter where she sat she had the best seat in the house. I’m glad she was cool about it, because I would have freaked myself out. There is just something eerie about being the only passenger on a commercial flight.
My question is what caused her to endure that long of a wait for a flight that’s only an hour and fifteen minutes?
