Terrell Owens was on First Take this morning with Chad Johnson and it was just as legendary as it sounds. If any two people deserve a show, it’s these two. It’s crazy to me that they aren’t paired up as talking heads on some network. After their performance on ESPN, I’m sure the offers are flooding in.
They debated a lot of aspects of T.O.’s career. He made the case that Skip Bayless attacked his character throughout his career and spun things in a way to make him look bad- which is true. Bayless made the point that he caused problems in the locker room and left his team worse than he found them- which might be true also.
But that’s what made Terrell Owens into T.O., he wasn’t perfect by any means, but he is not the first or last receiver to act that way. The difference is he was one of the best receivers the NFL has ever seen, so it was magnified. He was also an enigma, he brought attention to the game. He was entertaining in the way he walked and they way he talked. I spent most of high school shouting ‘Hate me if you want to, but I love me!’ and doing sit ups in my driveway.
Watching that this morning brought me back to yesteryear when T.O. was the biggest story in sports. Check out the top 5 things he did that made Skip Bayless red in the face.
