Vernon Davis’ random act of kindness is the reason why we love sports today.
When athletes take time out of their schedules to make these sorts of visits, it makes our day. We’re sure that this die-hard fan, Alex, will never forget this moment.
Alex has been battling cancer and heart problems since the age of 5. The hospital continued to blast tweets to Vernon Davis and the power of tweet got to him. This meeting was immediately set up.
It all went down at Stanford Children’s Health — where Alex — an 18-year-old Broncos fan — has been courageously battling cancer and heart problems since he was 5 years old.
We’re told the hospital tweeted out to several Broncos players asking if anyone could stop by — and lo and behold, the tweets got to Vernon’s people.
The tight end immediately cleared his schedule and made plans to go to the hospital — what ensued was a pretty special moment.
It’s safe to say that Alex will be rooting for Vernon Davis and the Broncos on Sunday.
