The trade deadline has come and gone quietly.
You know it’s bad when the trades that didn’t happen are more entertaining than the actual transactions.
The Philadelphia 76ers were looking to make a splash, but Atlanta wasn’t going.
The team offered packages that included some combination of shooting guard Nik Stauskas, point guard Ish Smith, and a 2016 first-round pick to the Atlanta Hawks for point guard Dennis Schroder, according to several league sources. The Sixers also considered adding a player with an expiring contract, the sources say.
Considering nearly their entire starting five was on the block, it was interesting to see Atlanta play it safe.
Jeff Teague was one of those guys on the block, which is the main reason why Atlanta wants to hold onto Dennis Schroder as their point guard of the future.
