While the Oscar nominations have been criticized this year, and the ceremony boycotted by a number of Hollywood’s elite for it’s lack of diversity, the week long festivities heading into Hollywood’s big night won’t have the same problem. With a who’s who in the film industry ready to converge on southern California, Monday formally kicked off 2016 Oscar Week in Hollywood.
Providing a rousing start to the week long party that will culminate in Sunday’s award show at the Dolby Theater, Roman Media Inc. hosted their 2nd Annual Red Carpet and Fashion event at the Argyle Club in Hollywood. Created in 2015 as an opportunity for actors, filmmakers, and producers to come together to make new acquaintances, mingle and discover new opportunities to grow, this year’s soiree picked up and carried on last year’s momentum with ease. This year’s theme, a celebration of Women and Film and Diversity in Entertainment, eclipsed the success of last year with a bigger turnout, non-stop arrivals on the red carpet, and an exciting fashion show by award-winning celebrity designer Shekhar Rahate. Once the fashion show was complete, the sea of revelers emerged to dance the night away and toast to a week of fun and excitement.
“We are championing Women in Film and Diversity in Entertainment,” said actress and CEO of Roman Media Inc. Michelle Romano. “Our goal is to celebrate with the Los Angeles film community and create an environment where filmmakers, producers, and actors can network, discover new opportunities to grow, and continue to make more meaningful films.”
After opening remarks from Romano, the fashion took center stage as designer Shekhar Rehate allowed guests in attendance the opportunity to connect intimately with his latest work. Staging the runway directly through the center of the room, an interesting departure from the typical high stage, isolated runway, attendees were treated to a birds eye view of the exquisite detail and craftsmanship that went into the red carpet ready, show stopping collection.
“I have created a red carpet worthy collection with even more crystals this year. I have used Swarovski® crystals so you can expect some more sparkles on the gowns to create that Hollywood glamour,” says Shekhar Rahate.
With another successful event in the books, Roman Media Inc. is quickly carving out it’s place among the notable Oscar events visitors can look forward to attending for years to come.
