Amir Khan will have a hard enough time moving up in weight and trying to evade the power of Canelo Alvarez. That will be even tougher if Canelo weighs in bigger than the 155 limit. Amir Khan told Fight Hype in an interview on Monday that if Canelo does in fact come to the weigh-in bigger than 155LBS that the fight will not happen.
Many say Amir Khan taking this fight isn’t the smartest thing for his career, and maybe even his safety, but he thinks differently. Khan has the speed advantage, and is probably a better pound for pound boxer, but Canelo has the power advantage, and after the weigh-in will probably add another 10-15 lbs.
We’ll just have to wait until the weigh-in, and May 7th bout to see how this plays out.
