The jump over/monster dunk is an art form that many have attempted but few have succeeded. Mississippi State’s Craig Sword did his best to achieve the feat but learned the hard way, or at least the Denny’s pancake did, that the key to success is how much air you can get at lift off.
At Thursday night’s college dunk contest, sponsored by Denny’s, Sword never got the vertical he needed to achieve the feat. Sword ended his turn losing the ball in route, never fully making it to the rim, and successfully flattening the buttery breakfast treat.
If at first you don’t succeed, try again, or better yet don’t try at all.
