Many WWE fans expected John Cena to make another miraculous recovery and show up at WrestleMaina 32. Today Cena tried to put those rumors to bed by announcing that he will not appear at WM32 and will watch from home.
It’d be the first time Cena missed a WrestleMania in his 13+ years in the WWE.
“For the first time in a decade and a half, this year I will be watching and not wrestling at WrestleMania.”
What’s odd about the announcement is that it came during the WM33 press conference and it wasn’t really pried out of Cena. HE offered this information to the crowd which leads to some skepticism.
WrestleMania is always marketed as a spectacle and there’s no better way to reveal Cena’s presence than with a surprise entrance into a match. It’s something they are afforded this year because they’ve put so much of the card planning to the back burner.
Kalisto still doesn’t have an opponent for the U.S. Title and Owens’ plans are up in the air for the IC belt, even though Sami Zayn looks like the front-runner.
If you’re a WWE fan you know to never count ‘Super Cena’ out until it’s all said and done.
