Surprise surprise. Reports are swirling that Colin Kaepernick is reconsidering a trade to the Cleveland Browns because well, they are the Cleveland Browns.
According to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee, Kaepernick is not so keen on taking a pay cut for a Browns franchise that has lost some key talent this off season and may look to draft a quarterback. Kaepernick is coming off of several surgeries since December and has over 135 sacks in his career, so having a talented core around him is an important factor.
Kapepernick is due $11.9 million this year and $14 million in 2017, which gives him some leverage as far as choosing a destination. With so much turmoil in Cleveland during the past year, Kapepernick is wise to move cautiously before considering the Browns as his next stop.
