LSU and Ben Simmons don’t have a shot at an NCAA Tournament bid — and that’s good because this charade needs to be over.
Following a disappointing regular season — LSU had hoped to run the table and clinch an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament — instead the Tigers quit during Saturday’s SEC Tournament semifinals loss to Texas A&M, scoring just 13 points during the first half and 38 all together.
Simmons — the countries star freshman — delivered another double-double — but it was a game to forget as the likely No. 1 pick went 24 minutes between shot attempts at one point.
Twitter reacted as is par for the course.
If I was an NBA team I would take Brandon Ingram over Ben Simmons, Simmons attitude and will to win aren't very good

Ben Simmons is a great player, but he might be the most overhyped player of my generation to not perform to the hype.

I seriously think Ben Simmons is gonna bust in the NBA. You don't let your team only score 38 in a win or go home scenario as the #1 pick.

I can't believe we spent so much time this season talking about how we had to have this LSU team/Ben Simmons in the tournament

LSU does not give one single iota of a care in this game. Ben Simmons and the fellas got one thing on their mind… pic.twitter.com/n7NsXcg7lq
