Adrianne Haslet watching near the finish line of the Boston Marathon when the bombs went off.
She lost a leg in the attack, but today she is reaching the peak of her comeback story as she is running the Boston Marathon She is an inspiration to the city of Boston, including one famous QB. Tom Brady took to Facebook to let her know how much of an inspiration she is to him.
Haslet began using a running blade last fall and has progressed rather quickly. More from Boston.com:
Her run is a thank you to all those who reached out to survivors after the attack — sending letters, cards, donations, and well-wishes. It’s also to support Limbs for Life, a nonprofit that provides fully functional prosthetic care for those who can’t afford it. More than 500 people lose a limb each day.
The race is underway and Haslet is out there stealing the hearts of everybody watching.
The winners have crossed the finish line with Ethiopian runners dominating. Lemi Berhanu Hayle won the men’s race and Atsede Baysa won the women’s side.
