Derryck Thornton to Transfer; Uncle Goes On Twitter Rant Blasting Duke

Derryck Thornton transferring from Duke

After winning their fifth National Championship a year ago, the Duke Blue Devils were in scramble mode trying to find a point guard.

Before their title run in March, most believed Tyus Jones would at least be a two-year player, but his stock rose to heights it probably wouldn’t have matched if he stuck around another year.

In a desperate attempt, Duke “begged” five-star point guard Derryck Thornton to forgo his senior year of high school to come to Durham, according to his uncle, who has been on a roll today on Twitter after the news broke of his nephew’s plans to transfer.

Trust me, it only gets better.

  • I watch him play this season and sure there needed some growth. He played with more heart than any of the rest. He definitely was a four year player but time was going to make him a great player and any school that recruit him is getting a great asset. Lord I feel so bad for him right now and trust me I’m definitely not a Duke fan.
