Unfortunately for fans of ABC’s popular morning show Live With Kelly and Michael, the on-screen relationship between Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan will be ending.
The good news is fans of the former NFL player will now see him daily on Good Morning America beginning in September. Strahan began appearing on the show last year presenting a number of special interest stories that resonated with viewers. In that time his ability to connect with viewers was so stellar GMA opted to make the relationship a permanent one.
According to US Weekly, Strahan confirmed the news on April 19 and revealed his full-time GMA role will begin in September.
“I look forward to continuing to work with the incredible team at GMA. It is an exciting opportunity to be able to bring unique stories and voices to the audience.”
Strahan joined Kelly Ripa as a permanent host of Live in 2012 after the retirement of longtime host Regis Philbin. Viewers enjoyed the genuine on-screen chemistry between the two anchors and will undoubtedly miss seeing them on screen together. Ripa will remain on the Live and broadcast daily with a variety of hosts until a replacement is selected.
