Now, I’d never venture to say that Hip Hop’s royal couple could be swindlers, however, you don’t get to the top of the music industry (male or female) without knowing how to drop some ‘timely’ records.
Some people out there seem to think Jay Z has cheated, or is cheating on Beyonce, and it’s inspiring these dope, scorned tracks . Meanwhile; another school of thought is being presented by Just Jared:
“They develop these storylines to sell albums. Lemonade is a movie crafted to drive sales,” a source told Page Six. “Jay and Beyonce are entertainers at the top of their game. Do you think Jay would release her album on [his own] Tidal if it really was all about him? He is 100 percent behind this.”
“They’re marketing masters,” the source continued. “They’re pros at this. The more attention, the more they sell, the better. All that speculation is to get press when they need it. Lemonade is much deeper than infidelity, but that’s the focus. As long as people are talking, they don’t care.”
One thing is for sure, no matter what the actual truth is, Jay Z and Beyonce know what they’re doing when it comes to moving the meter. None of this is by accident. I don’t know if they’d reveal this if it were all true, but they make a whole lot of money on their dirty laundry if it is.
What do you think really inspired the cheating references on “Lemonade”?
