Although things blew up during his stint in the ‘city of brotherly love’, new San Francisco 49ers head coach Chip Kelly is still very confident in his ability to get the most out of guys, especially quarterbacks.
In the midst of the Colin Kaepernick drama, Kelly has made a decision on who he plans fixing moving forward.
CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora says that he has been hearing that Chip Kelly is enamored with trying to resurrect Blaine Gabbert’s career. That tidbit suggests the 49ers will head into the season looking to go with Gabbert, who was a failed first-round draft pick with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Gabbert has shown flashes of his potential, but it’s going to take a lot of fine tuning to get him where Kelly envisions, which is nothing short of greatness.
