Confidence is a major key in becoming successful.
Kyrie Irving aka ‘Uncle Drew’ isn’t lacking in the confidence department at all.
“Everything surrounding our team is just crazy to think that we’re still in first place and we’re still the team to beat, honestly,” Irving said following Thursday’s 20-point win against the Nets. “Regardless of what anybody else says, what we need and what we don’t need and what we need to get better at. Us internally, we know we have to improve on a lot of things, but just have to handle business as professionals, just continue to get better.”
Now, it’s unclear if Kyrie was talking about the east or the entire association.
However, head coach Tyronn Lue took a different approach to the topic.
“Our team is very confident,” Tyronn Lue said prior to Friday’s game in Atlanta. “When he says the team to beat, I would say the team to beat in the East. I wouldn’t say overall because Golden State won the championship last year so they’re the team to beat and they have the best record in the NBA right now. We’re confident we can get things done.”
There’s no doubt Cleveland is the favorite to win the east, but when it comes to being the team to beat in general, I’m sure Golden State and San Antonio would beg to differ.
