We are a week and a half away from UFC on Fox 19 and the event’s main event was just canceled due to injury.
Tony Ferguson has announced that he’ll no longer be fighting #1 lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The fans anticipating this match-up in Tampa will be disappointed but there’s a siver lining to Tony’s misfortune. Ferguson’s injury opens up the possibility of Khabib fighting for the title at UFC 200.

Khabib is undefeated and already holds a win against UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos.
The UFC has announced a few of the fights for that weekend and many people anticipate a women’s bantamweight fight and a welterweight championship fight to be added to the card before it’s finalized.
A lightweight title fight between Khabib and RDA won’t jump off of the marquee but it’d be a candidate for the FS1 headlining fight or the 1st fight on the PPV card.
Khabib has been waiting a long time for his shot at the title and now that he’s come through a camp healthy it’d be ideal for the UFC to reward him with the opportunity.
