I’m all for people expressing their true feelings but this one just doesn’t make a lot of sense. Doug Whaley, Buffalo Bills general manager, has very interesting views on the game of football. According to TheScore.com, despite being involved in football decisions daily and making millions of dollars from it, Whaley doesn’t think humans should play football.
“This is a game of football. Injuries are part of it. It’s a violent game that I personally don’t think humans are supposed to play.”
This statement comes at a perfect time for the Bills seeing that star wideout Sammy Watkins is out with a broken foot and first round pick Shaq Lawson is expected to miss time after a shoulder operation. My only question is why did Whaley make this statement?
Maybe he’s just trying to down play the fact that his team isn’t healthy headed in to OTA’s by broadcasting how violent the game is. Maybe that’s what he doing but on the other hand he has profited millions from a sport he doesn’t think humans should play. To me that says a lot about what he think of his players.
