With over 70 million Instagram followers, it’s no secret that Kim Kardashian West is a social media megastar. Well, the Iranian government finds that quite suspicious. The Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corp is tasked with preventing foreign interface and protecting the Islamic system of the nation. They have accused the 35-year-old reality star of trying to negatively influence young people and women through the posting of her racy images.
Sunday night, during an Iranian news program, the Organized Cyberspace Crimes Unit of the Revolutionary Guards targeted Kardashian West, saying:
“Ms. Kim Kardashian is a popular fashion model so Instagram’s CEO tells her, ‘Make this native,’ ” a spokesman for the unit, Mostafa Alizadeh, reportedly said. “There is no doubt that financial support is involved as well. We are taking this very seriously.”
Alizadeh claimed that Kardashian West is a pawn in the scheme of Instagram’s CEO Kevin Systrom is to make fashion modeling native to Iran. PEOPLE magazine brought the claims to Kardashian West’s attention in Cannes, the starlet was oblivious saying, “What? For who? I just landed and came here [from the airport]. I have not heard that one. Thanks for the heads-up.”
We knew she was guilty of thirst traps, but anti-Islamic conspirator? That’s a new one!
