It seems that since the megastar’s untimely passing, everyone has a story to tell. Laker legend, Magic Johnson took his turn Thursday night during a visit to “Jimmy Kimmel Live”. In the above video, Johnson shares “one of his greatest joys”.
In the mid-90s, the basketball star owned a chain of movie theaters. One of his most loyal patrons was Prince, who oddly would only come to the theater at 2 a.m. which is closing time. Of course no one would ever turn Prince down, so the theater manager and projectionist would stay late to accommodate the singer and the entourage he would show up with.
Johnson recalled the first time it happened telling the host, “He brings this big bus full of people. Jimmy, when they get off, they’re all in pajamas!”. Prince would continue to call on Magic and his late-night pajama parties became a common sight at the theater.
While others have spoken of Prince’s basketball skills, largely due to the Chappelle’s Show skit, Johnson wasn’t impressed and called the singer a trash-talker who thought he had skills.
Prince sure seemed to love being in his pajamas!
