Kanye shows the world why he is a musical genius once again with his newest video “FAMOUS”, by depicting all the influential people in his and wife Kim Kardashian-West lives.
Everyone (and everything) from Ray J, Amber Rose, Taylor Swift, Ann Wintour, and even Bill Cosby can be seen surrounding Kanye and Kim, but where did he get this inspiration from? The answer is an American Realist artist by the name of Vincent Desiderio. Desiderio started his “Sleep” painting in 2003 and the massive Mural took 5 years to complete. You can check out the artist and his other works here.
Kanye briefly spoke about why he chose this mural to CR Fashion Book stating;
Within these works, I locate my affinity for—or maybe my addiction to—the body.
Desidario is a senior art critic who has traveled the world teaching fine arts and has won many awards including being the first American to win the Contemporary Art Award in Monte-Carlo, Monaco in 1996. No word on how the Artist feels about the Rapper using his painting as an inspiration for his new video.
The “FAMOUS” video took 3 months to make and can be seen here (FYI: definitely not safe for work)
