A lot of stuff happened on the night of April 8th 2015.
Copeland was leaving 1Oak nightclub in New York when he got into an argument with his wife about looking at another woman in the club.
Shevoy Bleary-Murdock tried to intervene, another argument broke out and Murdock ended up stabbing Copeland, Copeland’s wife and his own girlfriend (she was trying to stop him) in the process.
A sidebar to this was two Atlanta Hawks players were at the club and were illegally arrested by the NYPD. The NYPD broke Thabo Sefolosha’s ankle in the process during that arrest (he is suing the police department).
Considering what he did, Murdock got a pretty good plea deal.
The club-goer who stabbed ex-Knick Chris Copeland outside the 1OAK nightclub last year copped to assault charges Tuesday and will be sentenced to just a month of weekends in jail.
But Shevoy Bleary-Murdock has some time served credited to his name from before his bail was paid last year and he will likely only do two or three weekends of time.
Bleary-Murdock pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree assault in a deal struck in Manhattan Supreme Court.
