Trevone Boykin’s actions at the 2015 Alamo Bowl have finally caught up with him. After being arrested in December of last year for allegedly punching a cop at a bar in San Antonio, the DA has officially charged Boykin with assault.
Boykin was kicked off of the TCU football team for his actions, but has since signed with the Seahawks as a backup QB. According to records obtained by TMZ, Boykin avoided being charged with a felony and was instead charged with misdemeanor assault with bodily injury.
Boykin should consider himself very fortunate to receive a reduced charge, as this is unlikely to affect his NFL career. Boykin is scheduled to be arraigned on August 1st.
