To retire or not to retire? The talks of Tim Duncan retiring exploded during the playoffs. After all, this season was basically Kobe’s farewell tour and once the Lakers season finished, we focused our attention on Duncan and him potentially retiring.
Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Duncan has exercised his player for next season but that doesn’t mean he’s coming back.
If he does return for one more season, it will be his 20th year in the NBA. Tim Duncan is no doubt one of the greatest players to ever play the game. He’s had an amazing career but the last memory we would have of Duncan on the court is losing to OKC.
Hopefully, Duncan does come back for one more year so the NBA and the fans can give him the proper exit that he so rightfully deserves.
Of course, Duncan would love to exit on winning a championship, which can happen.
If Duncan does decide to retire, then thank you for everything that you’ve done the the game and the power forward position and if Duncan comes back for one more year, let’s honor him in the way we should because he’s been greatly under appreciated.
It’s getting sad to see some of the players that I’ve grown up watching hanging it up.
