The tidal wave of diversity continues its roll through the comic/movie industry.
After months of rumors, Actress Brie Larson has officially been announced as the next Captain Marvel.
Larson made the announcement at the San Diego Comic-Con, during the Marvel Hall’s H panel, informing fans the lead role was hers in the March 2019 film.

No one should be surprised.
Marvel Studios President, when Kevin Feige announced the project in October of 2014, he made clear that this version of Captain Marvel would be a woman.
“Let me clarify,” Feige said. “Captain Marvel has gone by many names in the comics, has had many people who’ve inhabited that costume and used that power base. I want to make it very clear: This hero’s name is Carol Danvers.”
More diversity? I’m all for it.
Plus I’m quite alright with my superheroes looking like this.
