James Harden has been teasing the idea of a shoe collaboration with Kanye West since early in the year.
Harden, who is still working on his signature shoe since signing his monster $200 million Adidas deal, has confirmed that he will be teaming up with the Chicago rapper/designer. Harden told Matt Welty of Complex Sneakers:
Yeah [we’re going to do a shoe]. Me and ‘Ye haven’t had any conversations yet. I think it could possibly happen in the near future, especially with how well everything’s going and how well he’s doing with the Yeezys. I think everyone’s excited about the wave that’s coming: Off the court, fashion, and on the court. Dame, Kyle Lowry,Wigg, everyone’s excited about everything that’s going on.
Derrick Rose, Damian Lillard, and Andrew Wiggins, NBA players signed with Adidas, also expressed interest in collaborating with West to design their shoes. Rose is even willing to take the shoe “without even looking at it”.
Given the monster success Kanye has had with Adidas, who could blame them?
