I’ve always thought it was fine to talk junk if you can back it up, Giants Odell Beckham Jr. seems to agree with me.
Odell Beckham and Redskins (Former Panthers) cornerback Josh Norman really went at it last year. Beckham and Norman took jabs at each other on the field and off the field via twitter. The on the field antics earns Beckham a 1-game suspension and the rivalry has grown even larger now that Norman is a member of the NFC East. Norman’s Redskins and Beckham’s Giants face off twice a year and according to ProFootballTalk.com, Beckham feels he is the reason Norman and his move to DC are relevant.
“It goes back to what I was saying,” Beckham said. “If I wasn’t playing him twice a year, maybe people wouldn’t bring it up as much. But now it’ll be a lot more media attention for him, attention that I don’t really look for, attention that I don’t need. The reason he’s become so relevant is because of me.”
Norman had a standout season earning himself plenty of media coverage but Beckham’s name was a huge part of the story line of him moving to the NFC East. To be honest, I think both are very talented athletes but I expected Beckham to get the best of Norman while he’s in DC.
