In Sweden, Mikaela Kellner and her friends were sunbathing in the Rålambshov park in Stockholm. They were approached by a man who chatted with them briefly (shocking, a man approached women sunbathing in the park). When he left, one of the women recognized a cell phone was missing.
Kellner, who happens to be an off-duty police officer, jumped up and raced after the man. She tackled him with the help of another woman, and called for on-duty officers to come arrest him. Kellner posted the picture of herself pinning the thief and it has gone viral. Apprehending a suspect in a bikini is obviously not the norm and Kellner was quoted in The Local, saying:
I JUST ACTED ON INSTINCT AND DIDN’T THINK ABOUT IT SO MUCH UNTIL AFTER WE HAD PINNED HIM DOWN. WHEN I SAT THERE I LOOKED OVER AT OUR OTHER TWO FRIENDS WHO ARE NOT POLICE OFFICERS AND REALIZED THAT IT PROBABLY LOOKED PRETTY FUNNY. BUT I WOULD HAVE STEPPED IN NO MATTER MY OUTFIT.
I bet when this guy decided he was going to steal a cell phone, this is not how he thought it would end up.
