If you’re still waiting for a Tiger Woods comeback, go grab a drink, might have to wait a little longer.
It looks like Tiger Woods has backed out yet another golf tournament, this time it’s the British Open. Woods, who hasn’t played in a golf tournament since August of 2015, spoke during his appearance at the Quickens Loans National stating that while he’s working hard to return, he just doesn’t know if it’ll happen in the remaining 5 months of 2016.
“I don’t know,” said Woods. “I want to play. Put it that way. I want to play. I don’t know if I will. But I do want to. But I’m trying. I’m trying each and every day I’m doing my workouts. … I’m working my tail off.”
Part of me wants to believe in a Tiger Woods return, but since the break on his infidelity, it seems that Woods just can’t figure out how to fight back. I don’t know if it’s a feeling of defeat from the fallen glory of a golf golden boy or if he’s really just done physically. Whatever the case, I think fans and Tiger, himself, need to face the truth, is it time to announce his retirement?
