Michael Phelps destroyed everyone in the 200-meter individual medley winning pretty handily and getting his 22nd gold medal in the process. Well, unless you’re CBC announcer Elliotte Friedman who got his lanes mixed up and thought Ryan Lochte won. In fact he called the entire race as if Phelps was Lochte and Lochte was Phelps.
Lololol, CBC commentators mixed up their USA lanes and were SCREAMING about Lochte winning #Rio2016 pic.twitter.com/7N2ccxMMMB

Ha, that was a bad one. Love the way you can tell he wanted to bring Phelps down a peg or two, “Phelps doesn’t look like he has this one in him” and “Phelps might not even make the podium”. Meanwhile, Ryan Lochte actually placed fifth and didn’t make the podium. Best part was the big pause at the end when he realized he had to eat crow and apologize. What must have been running through his head at that time? Did someone point out the mistake? Did he realize it himself? I need to know. Well, maybe next time.
