Fred Taylor has accused NFL doctors of lying to him about injuries and took to Twitter to voice his displeasure over the league denying benefits he feels due.

clavicle, 2 partially torn labrum, one in each shoulder. I’m Appalled! I was never told this as a player. Oversight? Or BS!

Taylor’s career ended in 2010, the injuries he is referring to in the above tweets are not new. It’s also not abnormal for former football players to complain of injuries sustained during their playing days. The NFL has long championed the “warrior” mentality. League doctors have covered up injuries and lied to players about injury severity. You play until you are literally unable to. This has led to an increase in lawsuits by ex-players who believe they are owed for the damage suffered while playing.
The ex-Jaguars RB also opens up about the league denying his “line of duty” benefits. These benefits are given to players who suffer incapacitating injuries during their careers.
Even through all the injuries and the lingering injuries, somehow The league still manage to deny my “Line of Duty” benefit 3 times.

Seems the “neutral doctors” we are referred to by the league overlooked the injuries and issues I currently deal with. Nice job guys

It is becoming increasingly difficult to watch how the NFL treats its players both past and present. But the league is a mega cash cow and the people that run it are very powerful. Doubt anything changes.
