Dahntay Jones is true sneaker head but unfortunately for him, he’s being relieved of a number of pairs after failure to pay his storage fee.
According to TMZ.com, the Cleveland Cavaliers G/F lost 208 pairs of rare Nike sneakers from his collection after the Atlanta storage company housing them couldn’t collect on a past due bill. The collection, which included a number of ultra-rare sneakers and samples made especially for Fat Joe, went to auction after the facility couldn’t collect on a bill just north of $300.
The winning bidder paid reportedly $4000.00 for the auctioned items but will undoubtedly make double that. Jones admitted to TMZ he was late on payments but the mix-up could have been corrected.
If the storage company didn’t provide any type of courtesy notice he may have a leg to stand on but in the meantime, some lucky winner has a hefty shoe collection that will fetch a pretty penny on Ebay.
