Here’s your most bizarre headline of the evening.
Upcoming tennis star, Gabriella Taylor, suffered poisoning at Wimbledon, but there’s still so many questions surrounding this unusual story.
Taylor was the furthest-advancing British player in the junior girls’ competition at Wimbledon, but she had to withdraw after what was initially believed to be food poisoning.
As time went on, Taylor’s condition only got worse and she was forced to go to the ICU for four days.
According to The Daily Telegraph, Taylor was diagnosed with Leptospirios.
“The bacteria the infection team found is so rare in Britain that we feel this could not have been an accident. Her bags with her drinks in were often left unattended in the players’ lounge and someone could have taken the opportunity to contaminate her drink.”
This infection can be deadly and it’s typically caused by rat urine, but considering how rare this is in the UK, officials believe this was a planned attack.
The investigation is still ongoing.
