The dialogue between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz on the UFC 202 conference call was down right chummy.
The two men concentrated on the fight and how they will be better than they were at UFC 196. The brightest point of the call was McGregor reverting back to his ‘Mystic Mac’ persona and predicting a 2nd round KO of Nate Diaz.
“This time, I’m still going to march forward, I’m still going to press him,” McGregor said. “I’m still going to bust him but there’s going to be a lot more in the tank and I’m going to be a lot more prepared for a man that can stay in there with me. If I was to make a prediction, and I will right now, I believe I will repay the favor and KO him inside the second round.” – McGregor
Diaz entered UFC 196 on 10-days notice and still managed to stop McGregor in the 2nd round. Diaz promises that a full training camp will only lengthen his edge over McGregor.
On the other hand, McGregor feels that training for Diaz will build on the success he had in the 1st round of their previous fight. Conor’s gas tank emptied early in the 2nd round of that fight and his training has been focused around making sure that doesn’t happen again.
Conor has even taken a few training tricks from Diaz’s book.
The distance biking, running and high intensity training is a key for McGregor if he hopes to avenge his loss to Nate Diaz.
