Over the years, the Super Bowl Halftime show has become one of the most successful segments in sports-entertainment history and fans look forward to seeing who will perform on the grand stage at half time.
There’s been some notable performances over the years at the halftime show including Michael Jackson in 1993, the controversial wardrobe malfunction with Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake in 2004, and most recently, Katy Perry in 2015.
As we prepare for the upcoming NFL season, fans are already petitioning for their favorite to perform on the national stage next February in Houston, Texas. Here are five candidates that are being discussed amongst the fans in sports-entertainment for the big show:
- Kanye West
The controversial Kanye West has yet to perform at the Super Bowl and although some may not like his actions such as cutting off Taylor Swift at the 2011 VMA’s or being full of himself, you have to admit that some of his music – classics and recently released – will fit perfectly.
2. Beyonce
Although she recently performed solo and reunited with Destiny’s Child at the 2013 Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans and as a special guest last year with Coldplay, the fans could never get enough of seeing her perform on this grand stage. Maybe this time she will bring in Jay-Z to perform with her.
