T.I.’s Atlanta-based restaurant is finding itself in hot water this week after being slapped with an eviction notice.
According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution the upscale eatery, Scales 925, was served an eviction notice for more than $1 million dollars in back rent to the building’s landlord. The Family Hustle star placed the blame squarely on the shoulders of business partner Charles Hughes saying “disrespected his brand.” Posting a picture of Hughes on instagram, which was later deleted, T.I. added the following caption.
“He is NOT associated with me or my company in any capacity. We have NO dealings or partnerships outside of my restaurant . . . which was a HUGE mistake in hindsight.”
Prior to the eviction notice, former Scales 925 employees filed a lawsuit alleging unpaid wages. In addition to unpaid wages, the lawsuit alleges that Charles Hughes deposited money from the restaurant into his personal bank account, causing paychecks to bounce, and forcing staff to work overtime without compensation.
