The divide between police officers and the African-American community has been well documented over the past couple of years.
However, it’s unusual to hear about a professional athlete being profiled and threatened by the police.
Nonetheless, that was the case with Denver Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall in Miami over the summer.
On the night of July 4, Marshall was handcuffed and threatened with a taser, as the area was in chaos due to reports of a shooting. To this point, there still hasn’t been a legit explanation of why Marshall had to endure this.
When sitting in the backseat of the police car, Marshall revealed what was said to him.
“They told me, ‘Look, we’re not going to take you in as long as you keep this between us,’” Marshall said.
The investigation is now open.
