The Dallas Cowboys have a loaded backfield. They drafted Ezekiel Elliott with the 4th overall pick and also add Alford Morris via free agency this off-season. Lance Dunbar is also close to returning after playing a big role in the passing game for the Cowboys before his injury last year. A late draft pick was used on Darius Jackson who was impressive during the preseason. All of these backs will be needed while Tony Romo is out to help Dak Prescott be successful. One name left out of the bunch is Darren McFadden despite rushing for 1,089 yards last year.
The Cowboys will start the season with McFadden on the reserve/NFI list and according to Sportsday.com, McFadden still isn’t able to fully extend his arm a couple of months after he injured it.
“It has a glitch in it but nothing that will stop me from doing anything football-wise.”
McFadden shared more when asked if he will eventually regain full extension of his right arm.
“It’s kind of up in the air. Anytime I ask, they say it’s a possibility it could. And then sometimes with that injury it does happen that way,” (not getting full extension back).
With the great offensive line they have, McFadden will be missed but the team shouldn’t have a problem on the ground. McFadden was named 2015-2016 offensive MVP by the Cowboys but his future with the team is in question.
