Over the past five years or so, it’s clear as day to see how Mike Kryzewski and his Duke program has adapted with the times.
Traditionally, Duke is known for getting quality three or four year players, but with the best players being one and done guys, Coach K had to adjust.
John Calipari is the Godfather of this new move, but Coach K is right on his tail.
With players such as Kyrie Irving, Jabari Parker, Jahlil Okafor, Brandon Ingram and etc rolling through Durham, it’s impossible to ignore what Coach K has done in recruiting as of late.
Heading into the 2016-2017 campaign, Duke has the top recruiting class, according to 247 Sports, which includes four five-star prospects, including two top five guys in Harry Giles and Jayson Tatum.
As Duke continues to get more hip, they’re taking another page out of Kentucky’s book.
Duke University will hold two pro days for NBA scouts to come take a look at potential prospects. Those two sessions will be held on Oct. 19 and Oct. 25. Though scouts will be welcome to attend any game the team plays, the university will be banning them from all other team practices.
The rich get richer.
