If there’s one person that knows Paul Pierce better than anyone else, it’s Doc Rivers.
Rivers, who coached Pierce in Boston, including their 2008 championship run and with the Clippers, thinks he should retire with the Celtics.
“I think it’s important. I think we have to do that. And I think we will. Danny [Ainge] and Mike [Zarren], we’ve already talked. The day he retires, he’s going to retire a Celtic. He has to. Paul’s a Celtic. So when he retires he’s got to retire as a Celtic. I don’t think anyone disagrees with me.”
It does make sense. He won a championship with the team that drafted him and there’s no doubt that his number will be retired in Boston.
