Southern rap legend Master P has been embarking on a return to the rap game as of late. With the release of two mixtapes, a US pop-up tour, and an upcoming film depicting his rise to fame, in production, P has been a busy man. The New Orleans legend was recently asked for his take on the on-going feud between fellow New Orleans heavyweights, Lil Wayne and Birdman, of Cash Money Records. The Colonel had this to say to HipHopDX:
I think they’re eventually going to work it out because they’re hurting theyself,” he says. “They both losing money. I think Lil Wayne is probably one of the biggest artists in the world. Nobody’s gonna be able to take that away from him. I think that Baby built something from Louisiana and people got to respect that. Together they made something powerful. Now they just gotta figure out how to go separate ways with it.
I agree, one shouldn’t go around poking their nose into others relationships – particularly the likes of Wayne and Baby’s. However, Master P hit the nail on the head by stating that they are both losing money. The New Orleans Saints recently signed their cash cow, Drew Brees, to a lucrative contract extension. Birdman should cut the check. #FreeC5
