Barack Obama is deciding to have some fun, and go out with a bang of sorts.
The 44th President in U.S. history will do something no other commander-in-chief has attempted — as he’ll become the first President to ever hold a music festival at the White House.
The event – produced in collaboration with South by Southwest – will be called South by South Lawn and will take place on October 3.
The artist list hasn’t been announced yet, but it figures to boast a who’s-who of eclectic talent that the president loves and admires.
Channeling SXSW, South by South Lawn will also include film and interactive platforms — while entry into the event will be based on a nomination process — with the White House reportedly searching for individuals who have a positive impact on their community.
