The Beaumont Bulls, a youth football team in Beaumont, Texas comprised mostly of 11 and 12 year olds, have become a target of hate mongers have the team collectively decided to join Colin Kaepernick’s protest by taking a knee during the playing of the national anthem.
According to ABC News, since the Bulls have collectively agreed to kneel and place their hands on each other’s shoulder in silence before the start of the game, members of the youth team have been subjected to threatening messages for taking a stance. The report goes on to say that despite the threats, the team has no intention of ending their protest and have received permission and support from the league office.
“It is our hope and desire to cultivate young men that will be leaders in our communities that will make a difference in this world and though their stance was not seen by all as a sign of progress, we believe it was and we will continue to support them.”
ABC News made calls to inquire whether or not the threats were being investigate Beaumont Police Department but received no response.
