Tampa Bay cornerback Brent Grimes and his wife Miko reportedly have a huge tax debt on their hands. The Miami Herald’s Adam Beasely is reporting that the couple owes the IRS $191,471, and a lien has been placed on their $1.2 million Davie, FL property.
The Herald has more details:
The document stipulates that the Grimes family is in arrears from 2014, and that “[the IRS has] made a demand for payment of this liability, but it remains unpaid.” The lien is on their five-bedroom, 4 1/2-bath home, which they bought for $1.2 million in early 2014.
It is pretty well known that Miko Grimes and Miami Herald reporter Adam Beasley have a long running feud going back to when Brent played for the Dolphins, and Miko did not take kindly to her family’s tax situation being published in the news.
In this instance, I can understand why Miko would be upset here, since both Brent and Miko now live in Tampa, and Brent plays football for a different team. The history of feuding between Miko and Beasley opens the door for an objective observer to question the intent of the article, so perhaps this story should have been broken by someone other than Beasley at the very least.
